I used to wish for you to leave.
I used to cry on the inside, scared to cry on the out.
I used to hate you with all my heart.
I used to believe you wanted me to be like your perfect daughter.

Except now, we need you.
You've taught so much and brought us to forgive our flaws.
I'm scared of you leaving us.
I'm more afraid of you gone then you here.
This is an unspoken fear I must have developed.

If you walk out that door for the last time, what will become of us?
A teenager stuck in her emotional world and writing poems on this website,
A seven year old girl needing guidance into this cruel world,
And a four month baby to feed and nurture for.
Who will care for us all? Who will help us when there is no one else?

Our home will become as quiet as a ghost town.
I, as the oldest daughter living in this household, would become a second mother.
I just wanted to see true love begin and unfold into a marvelous butterfly.
I was let down before I even began second grade.
Please, don't disappoint me again.
